According to Search Engine Journal, YouTube Analytics will have more information about what a service user is watching. Channel owners will be able to track the interests of their audience.
Content creators will see which other channels their regular viewers are subscribed to and which videos they watch most often. For this, a new interface has been added to YouTube Studio. It is divided into two columns:
-
the first one displays the most popular channels among subscribers for the last 28 days,
-
in the second – a list of videos that they watched in the last week.
The first tab is especially useful as it allows you to look at the real interests of the audience, understand why they come to YouTube and what they usually watch. In the second, just popular videos that are out of trends, or random recommendations may appear. Such data can distort the perception of the audience if not used critically in its assessment.
Information about popular channels and videos is in no way associated with specific users. This is a general statistic, so you won’t be able to track which of the subscribers and which video is watching. Confidentiality is not violated.
However, even impersonal information can be useful for content creators. Focusing on it, you can adapt your videos to the changing interests of the audience.
