SEOnews and eLama continue the YAN course for site owners and newbies.
In the new, fifth, video tutorial Nikita Kravchenko, Leading Paid Traffic Specialist at eLama, will tell you what image ads are available in YAN and how to create them.
Image ads in YAN
There are several options where you can create image ads for YAN.
- External editor.
You can use an external editor to create image ads, and then upload ready-made ads to the system. This method has one drawback – you will have to add information about restrictions yourself directly to the banners (for example, restrictions that apply to medical topics or 18). Information about all restrictions can be found in Yandex Help.
- Yandex.Direct editor.
You can create image ads inside Yandex.Direct. Such ads will be responsive – suitable for different platforms and different ad units.
Instead of static banners, you can upload GIFs. The changing picture can sometimes attract additional user attention, but to understand this, it is better to test it.
If it is not possible to entrust the creation of banners to designers or draw them yourself, it is better to make ads in the Direct editor.
If you decide to prepare banners in an external editor, you need to take into account the formats and requirements that Yandex places on advertising.
The most popular banner sizes that receive maximum coverage in YAN are 240×400, 300×250, 728×90.
Especially for smartphones, YAN has separate sizes of graphic banners: 640×100, 640×200, 640×960, 960×640. If you re uploading creatives yourself and don t want to display ads on smartphones, just don t upload banners of this size.
Constructor of creatives in Yandex.Direct
To create an image ad in Yandex.Direct, you need to go to Direct and select a graphic ad in the “Edit” section. Then click “Add” and “Create new”.
In the window that appears, you can select one of the templates. We recommend choosing a responsive creative.
Then, in the interface, add what you need:
- image. It can be downloaded from a computer or selected from the Yandex library;
- button color;
- fill color;
- frame color;
- text color;
- logo;
- additional text;
- domain;
- age limit;
- a warning;
- legal information.
Important: the age limit, legal information must be added on your own if you rendered the banner in an external graphic editor.
After creating the banner, you need to click Show All to see how the creative looks in different formats.
If an important part of the image is cropped off, you can click Set Smart Center and select the area that should always remain on the banner.
After clicking on the “Create” button, the creative will be created. The created creative can then be selected and added to an ad group.
Then, in edit mode, you need to register a link.
You can add additional image ads to your ad group.
