According to Daniil Chernov, director of the Solar appScreener center (Rostelecom-Solar), many applications may become paid due to the latest update of the mobile operating system.
Update 14.5 introduces the ability to block data tracking by advertising companies and software developers. Because of this, many large corporations and independent programmers will lose most of the profits they earned solely from serving ads.
Experts believe that many applications will switch to a different type of monetization soon. Perhaps, a paid subscription will appear in many programs and services. Perhaps some of the functions will remain free, while others will become paid. People are already joking about paid likes on Twitter and Facebook.
The current trend of iOS development is not to the liking of many developers. Facebook, for example, actively criticizes Apple s new policy and in every possible way calls on users and the corporation to abandon the opportunity to “hide” personal data from advertisers. Zuckerberg is threatening users with paid services on Instagram and Facebook.
The ability to block data tracking was introduced in iOS 14.5 and is an optional feature. Those who are satisfied with targeted advertising do not need to change the system settings.
