Danny Sullivan – a Google employee made a statement that now pages that fall into the featured snippet will not additionally be shown on the first SERP.
Up to this point, the same page could be shown, both in the block with answers, and then be duplicated in the main search results of the TOP-10.
From now on, blocks with answers will be categorized as “TOP-10” on the first page of the issue. This gave SEO specialists a reason to joke about the time to remove the rank of zero position in Google from the response blocks.
According to Pete Meyers from Moz, pages that were previously placed in both the answer boxes and the first SERP are now on the second page of results. However, Danny Sullivan noted that there is no guarantee that the site that got into the block with the answers will be placed on the second SERP.
